Sunday Sessions is presented by Mr Music Man himself – Mark Mayle who invites special performing artists who play a whole spectrum of music genres to entertain you. Listen and enjoy interviews with his special guests as they tell their life and journey through their music. A great way to spend a Sunday arvo!
MARK MAYLE – BIO
Mark brings a lot of talent to RPP FM, living his life through recording studios. He built his first studio in Moe in 1967 called ‘Studio M’ recording local bands, production of local Village Drive-In opening, interval and end shows.
He built BJM Studios at Boolarra in Victoria and had the privilege of being involved with Vince Jones second album, recording local bands and did advertising jingles for local businesses.
His work mainly involves Mixed Sound on stage and Outside Broadcasts for Monsalvat Jazz Festival for many years, Club 177 Jazz Club for the past 20 years, Peninsula Jazz Festivals, Yarra Valley Jazz Festivals, Victoria’s 150th concert at Chelsea Town Hall to name a few.
He mixed sound for performing artists such as Bob Sedergreen, Alan Zavod trio, James Morrison, Joe Chimando and the likes and recorded and engineered the Albums for Best of Club 177, Moments in Time and Egyptian Ella for Steve Waddell Creole Bells and most of Melbourne’s Jazz and Blues musicians over the last 25 years.
He designed the acoustics for all of RPP FM’s studios, from the first one at Octavia Street Mornington, Moorooduc Coolstores, then the current one at Wilsons Road. He also designed the acoustics for Casey Radio’s first studios at Fountain Gate. He worked with 3UL and 3TR on the mixing of the Hoadleys Battle of the Bands.
