RPP was devastated to hear of the untimely passing of local music legend Redro Redriguez.   Red was a musician, engineer and producer who championed local music in a way that had a genuine and lasting impact on the careers of thousands of artists.    He created the Moonah Arts Collective which provided a platform, production skills and recording equipment to up-and-coming bands in his drive to promote new talent.

For RPP, he was the host of Sunday Sessions, a live music show which featured a different band each week, sharing their music and stories, introducing listeners to new music and genres.    His giant personality and heart were matched only by his giant hair, and he brought joy, inspiration and excitement into any room he entered.

The world is the lesser for his passing but we and the thousands of people Red supported and connected with are the richer for the time he was here.

For those who would like to send Red off in style, the Pig & Whistle in Main Ridge is hosting a celebration of Red’s life on Tuesday 23rd April from 2 pm – wear a splash of red.
