Crowd numbers do the talking with Main Street closure.

This year, has seen footpath dining back with crowds numbers letting their feet do the talking. The closing of Main Street, Mornington from the Esplanade to Barkley Street. With restaurants and cafes again being able to access more space to serve more customers safely. Main Street Mornington was well attended on the first day of the new year. COVID-19 recovery is now a major focus of the Council. With it investing $10M directly towards recovery programs including $650,000 to re-establish the outdoor dining and township activation program from October 2021 – April 2022. They are also waiving fees and charges to the value of $1 million this financial year, including permit fees for applications for extended outdoor dining and trading.

Local musicians and artists also brought a little something extra. with a number of street performer out and about, entertaining locals and visitors with tunes, performances and inspiring creative displays, as picked up by our local  RPPFM cameras.
