Recent testing by the EPA has shown several Peninsula Bay beaches are in poor condition for swimming related activities. The EPA’s Enterococci data and forecasts has seen beaches at Blairgowrie, Rye, Dromana, Safety Beach, Mornington, Canadian Bay receive “Poor” Ratings.

The Peninsula has had minimal rain over the last 2 – 3 weeks and this has caused a build up in stormwater collections. With rain forecast over the next 2 -3 days, all beaches will be under pressure not to receive a “Poor” rating.

Interestingly data was last collected on the 29th Dec 2021 according to the Enterococci data charts. This looks at Enterococci values (org/100nL)
