Meet Sooty and Coal the seven-week-old dingo pups that are the centre of attention at Moonlit Sanctuary in Pearcedale.
The cute pair – have just been named after the Sanctuary invited the public to send through their ideas- the result -Sooty is the lighter female and Coal is her brother.
Moonlit Sanctuary is an active wildlife conservation park and the new dingoes will help educate visitors about the importance of the species within the eco-system and dispel myths that they are a pest.
“The dingo plays a very important role in the Australian eco-system,” says Michael Johnson, Owner and Founder of Moonlit Sanctuary. “Recent research shows that dingoes keep feral predators like foxes and cats at bay, and so protect many other endangered species.”
For now, Sooty and Coal are doing Puppy School- and the entire Moonlit team is involved in getting them accustomed to being around people.
As soon as we get out of lockdown – you are invited to get across and hang out with the awesome pawsome.
