The Mornington Peninsula Shire is inviting everyone to come together on Australia Day and enjoy the celebrations across the Peninsula with live music, entertainment, children’s activities, fireworks, food and more planned for 2020.

Events will be held at Mornington Park; Dromana, Hastings and Rye foreshores; Mount Eliza and Rosebud Villages Greens; Sorrento Bowls Club and Sorrento-Portsea RSL, each with its own unique flavour and attractions.

Grab a snag at one of the sausage sizzles, visit the food stalls or bring your own picnic and enjoy a fun day out.

This year Mornington Peninsula Shire is focusing on reducing single-use plastics at events. Please consider the environment if packing a picnic and choose to refuse single-use plastics.

Share you favourite Australia Day moments on social media and #ausdaymornpen to show us how you’re enjoying the day!

Citizenship ceremonies and the annual Australia Day local awards are also held on the day.

To support our fellow Victorians impacted by the recent bushfires, staff have volunteered to fundraise on the day to support the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

The appeal is dedicated to providing practical support for impacted Victorians to begin to rebuild their lives. It will also provide financial assistance for the rescue and rehabilitation of local wildlife.

If you’d like to make a donation on the day please bring coins or notes.
