A mum who shared a schedule of how often cleaning jobs should be completed divided opinion as others slammed the rota and told her ‘life’s too short’.

The graphic shared on Facebook divides household tasks in to five sections, being those that should be done daily, weekly, monthly, every three to six months, or once a year.

Every day jobs included cleaning the coffee maker, toilet and shower walls, while weekly chores consisted of mopping the floors and changing bedding.

It recommended cleaning your dishwasher and washing machine each month, whereas sprucing up your oven and fridge could be left to be done twice to four times a year.

Cleaning windows, chimneys and gutters were advised to be carried out once a year.

The cheat sheet labelled ‘How often you should clean everything in your house’ was shared on the Organise My UK Home Facebook page, where the poster posed the question: “Does this sound about right?”, as reported by News.com.au .

It sparked a debate among others, with many feeling the intense schedule was over the top.

One replied: “Gosh. No defo not. That’s grim.”

Another said: “No way! Life is too short.”

A third agreed, writing: “I just shut the doors and go live a life full of joy.”

Others took to the comments to question the placement of some of the cleaning tasks, suggesting that some of the jobs left to every three to six months or even yearly would need to be done more often.

One said leaving the fridge to be cleaned only twice a year with food mess and foul smells being allowed to build up was ‘nasty’.

One commented: “If I only cleaned my windows once a year we wouldn’t be able to see out.”

If your house needs a big deep clean in the new year, cleaning guru Mrs Hinch, who boasts almost three million followers on Instagram , has shared her top tips to tackle the toughest jobs .

It includes hacks to unblock sinks, get rid of grease stains on your cooker and removing stubborn stains from your mattress.
