8–10 June 2019
The Mornington Peninsula’s Winter Wine Weekend is held on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June every year. It includes:
- the Winter Wine Fest event on Saturday 8 June 11am – 4pm. This ticketed event is held at Red Hill Showground
- cellar door activities and events all across the weekend at 47 participating vineyard cellar doors
The opening event of the weekend is the Winter Wine Fest at the Red Hill Showground. It is an exhibition and tasting which traditionally marks the beginning of the weekend program. In one place, on one day, all under cover, you can taste around 200 premium wines from 47 wineries matched with a special menu created by nine chefs and one cheesemaker.
The whole weekend is an opportunity to immerse yourself in local wine, visit the vineyard cellar doors and taste new vintages. Whether at a vintage review, a wine and food matching program, blending your own sparkling dosage, or simply chatting with the maker, the wines of the region will be on show in grand style.
