In the Bendigo Community Bank RPP FM Match of the Day, Mt Eliza narrowly secured a finals berth by squeezing past the Pearcedale total of 166 with 9 wickets down. Great bowling by Chris Dew and Kaine Smith saw Mt Eliza under pressure but a fine 50 from Justin Grant guided the Mounties to a victory and second place on the ladder. Langwarrin have secured top place and a home final with a great victory over Baxter spearheaded by Trav Campbell‘s 6 wicket haul.
In Peninsula Division, Somerville picked up a dramatic outright result over Red Hill and catapulted them into the top four. Former state player Jayde Herrick led the charge with 6 for 38.
District Division saw the innings of the season from Steven O’Donnell with a score of 222 in Heather Hills dominant win over Mt Martha.
The top four seem settled in this division with Baden Powell, Seaford, Heather Hill and Mt Martha set to face off.
In sub-district an outright win to Tootgarook sees Dromana, Carrum and Tootgarook locked together. Boneo and Carrum Downs will battle for
fourth place in the final round next week.
