At RPP FM’s pop-up studio in Bayside, Heather and Michelle (rocking cool Christmas themed pants) welcomed local foodie doyenne Marlene Hoff from 100 mile foodie. Bringing only the freshest local produce to the table, Marlene spoke about her passion for fresh healthy produce that helps local farmers and growers develop their business as well as being sustainably and ethically sourced.
100 mile foodie is Marlene’s passion and in just three short years has grown to include cooking classes for (adult) foodies and for kids who love to cook!
Locals are encouraged to visit Marlene and her team in Somerville to learn new and fun ways to prepare the freshest produce. Cooking classes are also held at The Long Table Restaurant in Red Hill.
This Friday 15 December, Marlene and her team from 100 Mile Foodie will be at their HQ at 24 Chesterfield Rd, Somerville for their inaugural Christmas Market. Inspired by European Christmas markets, tonight’s event will feature vendors with delicious seasonal Christmas inspired delicacies, scented candles, jewellery, art works, local music and of course delicious fare from 100 mile foodie! Come down from 6.30pm and for a gold coin donation to benefit RUOK? you can indulge pre-Christmas and pick up some stunning hand made artisan gifts.
Marlene has great plans for 100 mile foodie, extensions are imminent and the new space promises to open up the delights of 100 mile foodie for more people to enjoy. Get down there and experience delicious local food from passionate people!
