Mornington Peninsula Brewery (MPB) has launched the second addition to their Mornington Artisanal range – named Beleura after the sumptuous and stunning historic homestead Beleura House and Garden in Mornington.
Launched on Thursday 16 November, the spring rain could not dampen the spirits of Matt Bebe, Managing Director of MPB and his crew alongside Beleura’s effervescent Monique Bladen, General Manager and Anthony Knight OAM, Director of Beleura House and Gardens.
This new drop – full title, Beleura Berliner Weisse is a light refreshing Berliner Weisse. For beer lovers a Berliner Weisse is a distinguished sour wheat style ale from Berlin once hailed as “The Champagne of the North”.
Mornington Peninsula Brewery’s interpretation delivers a crisp apple taste with fresh lime aromas. Its spritzy carbonation coupled with a palate cleansing acidity make this beer the perfect refreshment – anytime of year. Two variations of this delicate beer have been produced; one brewed in traditional style and the other was out into Pinot Noir barrels and aged for several months before being bottled for conditioning.
The result is a delicious drop suitable for any table, any dish and guys and girls will love its easy drinkability.
Mornington Peninsula Brewery have continued the local connection of their Artisanal range by naming it after Beleura House and Garden. Beleura House was the Summer home of the Tallis family who later bequeathed it to the people of Victoria. Beleura House and Garden is open during the week and has special events annually for the local community to enjoy.
The distinctive label artwork was produced by local artist Josh Brown who hand sketched the homestead and other label designs for MPB. His work can also be seen at The Snake Hole Art Gallery and Studio Space. Beleura Berliner Weisse will be available from 20 November at selected outlets and of course at the Mornington Peninsula Brewery, 72 Watt Rd, Mornington. Words & pics Honi McNaughton
