After the shocking assault on beach boxes and the jetty in Portsea New Year’s Eve, local are now having to face an offensive mess of rubbish, left tents, a lounge suite, broken furniture and graffiti.

Local resident and listener of RPP FM’s Eye on the Peninsula current affairs program contacted the team and provided images.

‘Jacki’ was walking her dogs this morning and was confronted with a slum like area in Sorrento. “It’s shocking to say the least – feels like we are living in the slums! Who cleans this up – 4 days into the New Year – left overs from NYE,” Jacki said.

Eye on the Peninsula will follow up the matter with the Mornington Peninsula Shire and update listeners on what action will be taken to monitor and clean up this filthy mess.
