Somers Arts Fair under blue skies

The sun helped shape blue skies on Sunday, 23 October as locals gathered to celebrate the 14th annual Somers Arts Fair.

RPP FM local radio presenters and personalities were there to broadcast live to capture the essence of the day from the Somers Primary School oval.

Sally Bailleu and her ‘arty team’ who host the Arts About program on RPP FM, interviewed talented artists, many of whom make up the art community on the Peninsula.

photoRPP FM took live feeds from the stage where music artists performed and RPP FM personalities Josh and Nick got in on the act and entertained listeners until the end of the day.

Part of the festivities is the live art auction. Artists donated their paintings, sculptures and totem poles, unique to Somers Primary to raise funds for school projects.

Children were entertained with jumping castles, sack races and creative workshops.

Thank you to Sally, John, Josh, Nick and Michael and new RPP FM reporter Jessica Poulter. Jessica provides an audio daily news service on the RPP FM website. Be sure to visit the website for up-to-date local news and events. The RPP FM facebook also provides daily news bulletins.
