RPP FM was among invited guests this week at the official launch of the 2016 Main Street Mornington Festival.

Now in its 21st year, sponsors and supporters celebrated the milestone at Merchant Lane, Mornington.

photo-38Member for Dunkley, Chris Crewther MP, Mornington Peninsula Shire CEO, Carl Cowie and Festival Director, Christina Nolan addressed the guests.photo-39

Mr Crewther said the annual event was great for the community and great for the local economy.

The Eastlink Main Stage will feature great performers including Blues and Soul band Safari Motel and Reggae band Ras Jahknow.

There will be local food and wine stalls, children’s events, activities and entertainment.

As RPP FM local radio do every year, our team will broadcast the event LIVE from the Main Stage.

Neil Williams, Michael Voss and their crew will interview Paul Kennedy, ABC TV breakfast presenter about his new book on a local sporting disasters when 14 local footballers drowned off Mornington in May 1892. Deep fingernail scratch marks in the hull told of their desperate struggle to stay alive.
