Another talent has joined the RPP FM family with a new program that further adds a high standard of variety and entertainment to the existing schedule of radio programs.
Tracee Hutchison, producer and presenter of her new program, Wordy Rappinghood debuts this Friday, 15 April at 12noon. Her first guest on this one hour program is ex-work colleague and Australian singer James Reyne.
Her program focuses on interviews with diverse, dynamic, creative, clever and charismatic Peninsula locals.
Tracee was born and educated in Rosebud and later attended Toorak College years 6-12. She said, “As it happens, it is 30 years this month since I started at the Jays – it feels like a lovely full circle to be returning to community radio where my broadcast career began – to really come home to the Peninsula where I was born and grew up”.
Tracee is a high-profile Australian broadcast journalist, TV/radio presenter, producer, director, writer, columnist and Executive Producer with over 25 years’ experience at the highest level in Australian and International broadcast media across every genre from factual (news/current affairs), music & popular culture, lifestyle, science and education.
Her career highlights include: launching the Triple J national network, discovering silverchair in a national demo competition as Series Producer of SBS TV’s ‘nomad’ music program and interviewing a who’s who of Australian and international musicians including Nick Cave, Patti Smith, Lou Reed, Neil Young, Sir Tom Jones, Billy Bragg, Paul Kelly, Pete Garrett, Chrissy Amphlett, Kylie Minogue and Tim Minchin, actors Toni Collette, Guy Pearce and Geoffrey Rush and a roll call of Australian Prime Ministers including Julia Gillard, John Howard, Paul Keating, Bob Hawke and Malcolm Turnbull.
She’s worked extensively nationally/internationally as a radio presenter/journalist; JJJ, Radio Australia, ABC News Radio, 774/Melbourne, 702/Sydney, 3RRR.FM & the BBC World Service – and on television as a presenter, reporter, producer and writer; 7.30 Report, Sunday Arts and co-host/producer of ABC TV’s DIG TV with James Reyne.
Tracee’s extensive TV production roles include: Talent Producer/scriptwriter Rockwiz (SBS TV), Series Producer nomad (SBS TV), field producer Getaway (Channel 9), writer/producer/director Chefs on Tour and Marion’s Gourmet South Australia with Marion Grasby (Australia Network) and Network Executive Producer for the ABC’s Australia Network/ABC International.
Tracee is a former CEO of the Human Rights Arts & Film Festival, Program Director at Australia’s largest community radio station 3RRR.FM and Opinion columnist for the Saturday Age. She is also the author of 3 books: an Australian music anthology Your Names on the Door and two fundraising cookbooks for the Mirabel Foundation – Rock Chefs for Mirabel and Laughing Stock.
She is also a registered Civil Marriage Celebrant in Australia.
