So 19 March saw the Grand Finals of the 2015/16 MPCA draw come to a close with two remaining games played in District and Sub-District.

The RPP FM Bendigo Bank ‘Match of the Day’ saw Pearcedale comfortably defend their score of 272 against Flinders in District.

It was slow going for Flinders despite a rally led by Andy Power and Blake Hogan-Keogh.

Pearcedale were too steady in attack and wrapped it up for 136.

In Sub-District, Rosebud defended 215 dismissing YCW for 178 with Jason Nagel collecting 6 for 60.

Provincial was won by Peninsula Old Boys, the peacock T20 cup was won by Sorrento and Rye and Carrum relegated for next season.

RPP FM Management wish to thank Neil Williams and his cricket commentary team for their commitment and dedication they give each week to bring live action to the locals.

And of course, none of the RPP FM Match of the Day broadcasts would be possible without the continued support of local businesses who sponsor the cricket coverage every week. Thank you to Gary Sanford from Bendigo Bank, Pete and his team from Mornington & Rosebud Telstra stores, Matt Bebe from Mornington Peninsula Brewery and Taz from Chemist Warehouse.

That’s the cricket season over for another year until October 2016.
