The Western Port Festival and Parade held on the weekend celebrated 950 years since The Battle of Hastings and RPP FM presenters and personalities were out in force covering part of the 3 day event ‘live to air’.
Saturday morning the Street Parade down Main Street Hastings didn’t disappoint onlookers as they cheered on representatives from local community groups, social and sporting clubs, local schools, organisations and local businesses. There was also excitement when the crowds cheered on finalists of the 2016 Miss Western Port pageant who were transported in horse drawn carriages.

The RPP FM Main Stage was one of the draw cards at the festival hosting many important announcements and accolades which included the Parade Awards and the crowning of Miss Western Port 2016, awarded to Lily Warren-Venturin of Somers.
The Stage also provided live entertainment featuring many bands. One of the highlights was Dirty Deeds, The Australian AC/DC Show.
Saturday evening concluded with a fireworks display.
This 3 day fun event held on the Hastings Foreshore is always ‘choc’ full of activities for the family which RPP FM is proud to be part of.

Flinders comfortably defended 240 by tearing through the Main Ridge top order. The winning team now fourth on percentage.
