Flags waved at Australia Day Parade
98.7 RPP FM among the community covering an iconic local event
Once again the annual Main Street Mornington Australia Day Parade for 2016 didn’t disappoint onlookers with a procession of community based businesses and services reminding locals how lucky they are to live in Australia.

Bob Phillips and his striking wife Judy Banks-Phillips, both presenters of the RPP FM Sugar n’ Spice program, and Bob, presenter of his program the Late, Late Brekky Show, took to the street to cover the parade live to air in the RPP FM Outside Broadcast van.

New rookie to the mix, Angie Waters (who is Debra Mar’s co-host on The Breakfast Table radio program) entertained audiences as she meandered through the moving procession to interview participates.
There was a total of 40 local businesses and services who delighted the crowd from dancing girls, stilt walkers, ‘Eric the Red’ on his unicycle and Amazing Toys to charity groups, community clubs, SES, CFA, Police and the Mornington Youth & Citizens Band.
The parade completed it’s journey at Mornington Park for Official Proceedings and Flag Raising Ceremony. It was a wonderful afternoon had by all.
Thank you to the RPP FM crew for their mighty effort covering this well-attended event.
