Everyone down in Hastings on Friday enjoyed the excitment of the VIP Street Party with Peninsula Run program presenters Johnny, Andy and Lofty opening up the event with a live RPP FM Outside Broadcast in High Street.
Crowds of people joined in the fun whilst entertained by the presenters who broadcasted between 4-6pm. Mark Mayle, presenter of Sunday Sessions program was special guest on Peninsula Run.
High Street Hastings was closed to traffic for local traders to hold a series of special VIP events in shops and businesses.
A couple of local businesses including a café owner were interviewed who said the local Hastings community is very supportive and great to work with.
There was a String Quartet playing Christmas carols and other performers too who attracted attention.
Organised by the Western Port Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) events included:
Pop Up Park with a large interactive digital screen
Lego Making Competition
Prizes for the best dressed windows and lights competition
Up to $2000 for the best lighting display in the residential, industrial and commercial precincts.

ModBOX displayed in High St
Mobile ModBOX also provided a colourful display of flowers and vegetables and are used for educational programs for children to learn about gardening.
The VIP Street Party continues up to Christmas with businesses offering great shopping experiences instore and fun festive display in their windows.
The night ended on a high with Carols by Candlelight on the Hastings foreshore with a fireworks display.

The Sunday Sessions program welcomes Momentum this Sunday on RPP FM 12noon – 2pm live. The 3 piece band based on the Mornington Peninsula comprises of members from favourite local bands, Waylayd & The Australian U2 Show.
