Somerville Cricket Ground was the stage set this week for the Bendigo Bank RPP Cricket Match of the Day when the home team dismissed Mt Eliza for 156, thanks to a key spell of bowling from Matthew Roach.

Roach broke the ‘Mounties’ middle order to end up with 4 for 44 on the Mornington Peninsula Lager Scoreboard. The match turning wicket came when he bowled captain Justin Grant.

Matthew Roach was awarded Mornington Peninsula Brewery Performance of the Day plaque for his bowling attributes.

Big wins to Sorrento chasing Langwarrin 228 and an outright to Baxter rounded out Round 2.

Next week the RPP FM cricket commentary team call the action live when they head to Pearcedale with their tussle against Seaford Tigers.
