On the weekend music lovers were treated to an afternoon of amazing talent when local singer/songwriters showcased their singing ability in the 2015 The Voice of Frankston final competition held at the Frankston Arts Centre.

Five judges who included RPP FM local radio presenter of Mornings with Heather Mc program Heather Miles, Ian Pav, Simon Mills, Cail Baroni and Ariana Friend had a huge task choosing winners from three listed categories – Junior Division, Teen Division and Adult Division. Three contestants competed in each division.

The winner of the Junior Division was Raela Wagstaff who sang a magnificent rendition of Rihanna’s song Stay.

Brooke Miller won the Teen Division singing Power of Love and Paul Dillon took away first prize in the Adult Division performing his own song titled Stars.

Raela received a $200 cheque sponsored by Crocs Playground, Brooke received $250 sponsored by Bendigo Bank and Paul received $500, also sponsored by Bendigo Bank.

All competitors performed beautifully, displaying confidence, voice control, passion and conviction. They now have an opportunity to record a CD, a photoshoot for posters and a professional video of them performing.

Jenny Wilkinson who runs her own music business funkeymusic.com.au thanked all The Voice of Frankston entrants and sponsors adding, “The Voice wouldn’t be possible without their support that allows locals to showcase their extraordinary talent.”

The Voice provides a springboard for singers in Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula,” she said.

Past winners of The Voice of Frankston, heading to it’s 4th year, are already working in the singing industry so if you have a voice that needs to be discovered, make sure you enter the 2016 The Voice of Frankston.

Other guests who made an appearance at the event was Fox DeRoche who won the Junior Division in last year’s The Voice and Sian Crowe who was awarded the winner in last year’s Adult Division.
