Excitement builds at Grand Final luncheon

The Sorrento Football Club Grand Final Luncheon was held at Hotel Sorrento, a day ahead of the Nepean Football Netball League’s Grand Final. 

RPP FM local radio was part of the excitement at this annual event steeped in tradition with three presenters of The Peninsula Run program covering the day with a live broadcast from the Hotel’s Parkview Room.

Radio presenters Johnny, Andy & Lofty mixed with, and interviewed special guests at the luncheon including Lawyer and Chairman of Professional Boxing & Combat Sport in Australia, Bernie Balmer, who is also part of the World Boxing Council, horse racing breeder Robbie Laing and Rob Pitt, owner of Hotel Sorrento.

Rob and his wife Anne are delighted to host the luncheon, now in it’s ninth year and it’s a way for the Sorrento Football Club to thank Rob & Anne for their continued support of the Club.

Legend Australian Sports Journalist Scot Palmer was on the special guest list who addressed the crowd and singer/comedian Peter Dee entertained punters with his wit and risqué humour.

Ex-Richmond player/coach Tony Jewell and other guests attending the luncheon enjoyed a 3 course meal, complemented with local wine.

The Peninsula Run ‘kids’ interviewed one of their program’s sponsors, Markus Derham, Principal of Coastcom Security. They expressed their appreciation for Coastcom’s continued support and sponsorship of RPP FM and their program.

Somerville Eagles and the Rosebud Buds go head to head in the Nepean Football Netball League’s Grand Final this Saturday at Frankston Park.

RPP FM footy commentators will cover the action live from Frankston Park commencing at 2pm.

Toe Punt Kelly will also broadcast his Football Show live from the ground this Saturday 9am – 10.30am.
