Boys bring it on with new talkback show

0

After the Siren Footy Show is the brain-child of host Neil Custerson (father to Nathan who is also part of the RPP FM sports family). His co-hosts Jack Fulham and Jake Dosser bring you up-to-date with breaking footy news at local clubs, interviews, reviews and football results and scores in the Nepean & Peninsula Football Netball Leagues.

After the Siren Footy Show which immediately follows the RPP FM Match of the Day live broadcast, is a talkback radio program where the boys invite you to call the RPP FM studios and provide your feedback, not only on local football, but anything pertaining to sport. You can also visit their facebook page and post your thoughts and views, and post what's on your mind to their twitter account.

There is a lot to know about the boys who present After the Siren Footy Show so let’s start with Neil.

Neil Custerson is a local Pearcedale plumber by trade who grew up in Dandenong. His father introduced him to the Dandenong VFA home games watching local legends such as ‘Frosty Miller’ The Skinners brothers and Chris Briese at Shepley Oval during it’s glory days.

Local boy Jack Fulham was born and raised on the Mornington Peninsula and played junior footy for Mt Eliza Redlegs. He loves travel and spent the past 4 years touring around Australia living in Pilbara, WA and Ayers Rock.

Jack is currently studying Screen & Media at Holmesglen hoping to carve a career in radio. He believes he has a perfect face for radio and is a little rotund now to play footy admitting candidly, he enjoys the odd (maybe many) hamburgers and meat pies.

Besides his love of footy, his other hobby is collecting highly valued Star Wars figurines. (I think we get the picture where you are headed Jack!).

Where do we start with Mr Jake Dosser…well he says, “I am fanatical about all things sports. Football, basketball, cricket, lawn bowls, darts it doesn’t matter. If I can find it on the TV, I’ll watch it.”

He adds, “I played local footy for a number of years down at Karingal. On debut I kicked 5 goals (in under 14’s) but I think I probably had about 5 more kicks after that in following years and that's why I now reside in the studio and not on the ground.”

Jake is also studying a Diploma of Screen and Media (TV& Radio) at Holmesglen, Chadstone this year and is certainly obtaining lots of work experience as a presenter at RPP FM.

Station Manager, Brendon Telfer commented how happy he is to have a program in place immediately following the RPP FM Match of the Day, adding “It’s a great format to round up the RPP FM sports day offering talkback radio for listeners to have their say on local radio and is a perfect opportunity for our young media students to gain experience in an industry they love.”

Alongside Jake’s his friend Jack, both also host the ‘Half Time Show’. As the name suggests, it is broadcast during the half time break of the RPP FM Match of the Day. The program provides listeners live score updates from all the other footy games around the Peninsula – a big thank you to everyone who has sent scores into us in our times of desperate need.

The three radio rookies love what they do and have real fun with plenty of banter between them.

So don’t turn off your radio after the RPP FM Match of the Day – keep your ears tuned to After the Siren Footy Show every Saturday.
