CONGRATULATIONS to local resident Cassie Flinn and Wally Brierley who experienced an euphoric moment when they learned their names were drawn out of a hat as winners of a competition run by 'Bowling Around The Peninsula'.

Each won a $525 Gift Voucher each comprising of a set of Taylor SRV Bowls, courtesy of local sports store Bossports.

Cassie and Wally, both avid RPP FM listeners, couldn’t believe their luck when Sales Manager Martyn Ashton rang last week to confirm the news.

John Tinney, presenter of Bowling Around The Peninsula program and his team Noel Johnson & Pamela Dind said they are most grateful for the sponsors of our program including Bossports and Taylor Bowls who generously supplied the Bowls sets.

The team is happy to see the Bowls sets given to two deserving listeners who love playing bowls.

If you love playing Bowls, Bossports cater for all your needs including apparel. Customers can even take a set of bowls down to their Bowling Club to try them out.

Bossports also have other sporting equipment for sports enthusiasts including indoor enclosed areas to ‘try before you buy’. Swing a golf club or a tennis racquet for size and chose bowls to try on an artificial green.

Other services offered include restringing, club repairs and re-stamping.

Moving on to other news…John Tinney called ‘it a day’ on Saturday when he bowed out behind the microphone.

John also retired from his RPP FM program Mostly Music a couple of weeks ago but remains a member of the station’s Board of Management which will keep him a ‘radio man’ for a few more years to come.

John, a proud, gentle octogenarian decided to move on and focus on family life and enjoy it with his wife Dorothy, two wonderful children, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

RPP FM Management and presenters wish John well in the days ahead – time to stop and smell the roses!

Bowling Around the Peninsula program will return to the RPP FM airways for the Peninsula Bowls 2015/16 season later in the year.
