RPP FM local radio had Australia Day in Mornington totally covered 'live' from the Main Street Australia Day Parade to the Main Stage Live Entertainment at Mornington Park.

Two of RPP FM’s popular and talented personalities Pete Smedley and Ange Robinson, MC’d the Main Stage Live Entertainment while RPP FM presenters and entertainers Bob Phillips and Judy Banks-Phillips positioned themselves on the Main Street sidewalk in the RPP FM Outside Broadcasting Van to cover the Australia Day Parade.

Bob & Judy were joined by RPP FM personality and presenter of Buddha & the Bear program Damian Flenley, who weaved through the parade with his roving microphone, leaping from service vehicles to fire trucks and interviewed excited children and adults from local businesses and community services.

Station Manager Brendon Telfer congratulated his team on a super Australia Day broadcast adding, “The street parade and main stage coverage was awesome, I’m very proud of your work – thank you”.

In addition, children’s activities, cooking demonstrations by Sally Lukey from Sweetpea Cuisine who also has a cooking segment called Tasty Tuesdays on RPP FM – The Breakfast Table program, and a flag raising ceremony in Mornington Park was part of this wonderful patriotic day for local, proud Australians.

And clear skies lit up with the thrilling fireworks display visual from Mornington Park and nearby beaches.
