Summer music festival you can’t miss

The VIP launch of the 2015 Peninsula Summer Music Festival was held in the BlueScope Performance Studio at RPP FM local radio station last Friday.

RPP FM Classic Music Director, Antony Ransome welcomed a crowd of enthusiastic music lovers who were eager to hear the line up of talented performers listed in the 2015 program which begins on 1 – 11 January 2015.

Hoang Pham, a well-accomplished international pianist who won the 2013 ABC Symphony Australia’s Young Performer of the Year and is part of the PSMF, played classical piano pieces on the Bernstein studio Grand Piano on extended loan from Bernies Music Land which included Rachmaninoff  Prelude in G Op. 32 No. 5, Chopin Polonaise Op. 53 in A flat Major Op. 53 in A Flat and his encore – Chopin Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2.

Pham who is part of Trio Bresciani is performing in the Peninsula Summer Music Festival at the Church of St John the Evangelist, Flinders on Sunday 11 January at 12pm. He said he is looking forward to showcasing the dynamic trio’s repertoire.

Station Manager, Brendon Telfer said, “I’m delighted to be able to accommodate a high calibre of performing musicians in the BlueScope Performance Studio and we are forever grateful to Bernie of Bernies Music Land who is an integral part of the helping attract talented and well-acclaimed performers with the extended loan of the Baby Grand.”

PSMF Chair of the Board, Russell Kenery addressed the audience introducing Artistic Director Julia Fredersdorff who outlined the exciting 2015 program. She announced a couple of new events – Peninsula Summer Garden Party held at Bibury Main Ridge and Meow Meow, a cabaret style performer who will leave you speechless.

She said, “The Peninsula Summer Music Festival is in it’s 7th successful year and we have selected the best venues on the Peninsula to add to the unique experience. We are delighted to have some of our favourite performers return.”

Unique Peninsula landmarks, restaurants and wineries including Port Phillip Estate, Willow Creek Vineyard, Montalto Vineyard & Olive Grove and Hummingbird Eco Retreat & Conference Centre have been chosen to host this world class event renowned for it’s upstanding international performing artists with performances ranging from the finest classical and early chamber music to jazz, cabaret and world music.
