RPP FM will join the fun and entertainment at the annual Somers Arts Fair on Sunday, 26 October 2014.

This fantastic family fun fair grows in popularity every year attracting well-acclaimed local and afar artists to showcase their artwork to be auctioned on the day. The motto of the Somers Arts Fair is ‘Small School, Big Art’, which perhaps encapsulates the difference between this Arts Fair and others.

Live entertainment, yummy foods, wine tasting, exhibitions and arts & craft market stalls provide an inspirational backdrop for an exciting day out.

The success of the Somers Arts Fair over the years is due to the support from the local community including sponsorship from local businesses and artists who generously offer or donate their artwork for the auction and of course the people in the local area who attend, purchase and participate in activities.

Some prominent artists who will be showcasing their artwork include Andrea Bunyevich, an Archibald entrant, Karina Armstrong, a practising visual artist and director of AppleStick Contemporary Art in Balnarring, Jake Fraser, tattooist who has worked all around the world and attended Somers Primary School, Matt Hill having spent most of his 20's living in Japan is celebrated for reflecting his admiration of Japanese architecture and building methods in his work and Geoff Hook, OAM cartoon signature JEFF who lives on the Peninsula is former editorial cartoonist for The Sun News Pictorial.

The Arts Fair wouldn’t be complete without the famous Totem Poles that had humble beginnings in 2004 with parents and teachers deciding the Poles would be a unique exhibition piece for the auction. A Grade 6 group designed a pole attracting other local artists to design and donate Poles they designed. They are now sought after pieces of artwork.

Live entertainment will deliver a party atmosphere with The Tiger and Me, Orlando Furious and local hero’s Jam Roots.  This is an opportunity for these talented performing artists to ‘stage’ their unique sound.

RPP FM will be broadcasting this fantastic line-up live throughout the day, so don’t forget to tune in. And come and say hello to the RPP FM presenters and personalities in the big RPP FM marquee.

RPP FM – A great way to feel connected to the Peninsula on 98.7FM & 98.3FM Frankston.

The Somers Primary School and Arts Fair Committee would like to express their heartfelt thanks to RPP FM for their very generous support of the Arts Fair and the Somers community.  Their presence on the day will add immeasurably to the great atmosphere and is very much appreciated.
