RPP FM representatives were on hand to celebrate the launch of the 19th Main Street Mornington Festival held this week at the Mt Eliza Bendigo Bank Community Room.

Festival Director, Christina Nolan began proceedings by welcoming everyone to the Festival launch congratulating all concerned to have reached it’s 19th year.  “Each year the Festival is an opportunity for locals to showcase their fresh seasonal gourmet produce, boutique wineries and for visual artists, musicians and singer songwriters to perform. We are also proud to announce we have secured Michael Paynter who appeared on TV show ‘The Voice’ in 2013 to perform on the day” she said.

Christina also thanked Eastlink, the Grand Hotel and the Mornington Peninsula Shire as Major Sponsors of the Festival and Mt Eliza and Mt Martha Bendigo Bank branches for their continued support.

Mornington Peninsula Mayor, Cr Antonella Celi addressed the small crowd by adding what a dynamic event the Festival is with numbers attending near the 50,000 mark and is increasing each year.

Director of Mt Eliza Bendigo Bank branch Alex Godrey also thanked everyone who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the Festival happen and announced Elan Vineyard as the winner of the Bendigo Bank Best Stallholder for the 2013 Main Street Mornington Festival.
