RPP FM Management were delighted to welcome Padua Secondary College students this week to an educational forum at local RPP FM radio station in Mornington.
Management addressed a total of 19 Year 11 Media students in the BlueScope Performance Studio who are currently undertaking a Media Course which follows the requirements for the VCE Study guide.
Station Manager, Brendon Telfer provided solid advice to the students when deciding which media to chose for their career whether it be TV, radio or print.
Sales Manager, Martyn Ashton’s message was “Be confident in all you do,” Angela Robinson, co-host on The Breakfast Scoop & The Breakfast Table shared her radio experience adding, “Follow your passion and dreams and lastly, RP & Media Coordinator Debra Mar who is also co-host of The Breakfast Table, opened up discussion by advising if you have a passion to write, RPP FM can provide a platform to experience writing feature stories for the RPP FM website.
Students toured the studios to view the audio equipment, production, studios and the Master Control Room.
Emilio Di Paolo, VCE Media Teacher commented during the tour that the exposure his students had to RPP FM radio station was an invaluable experience.
Q & A time was set aside after the grand tour which opened up interesting discussion with some students keen to try their hand at production and writing for RPP FM.
We encourage the Padua Secondary College students to test their media skills at RPP FM studio in the near future including a Summer Holiday program the station offers that will benefit those who get involved.
