DORIS DAY FANS…concert details
Remember Doris Day back in the day when…….
Reminisce songs of Doris Day featuring vocalist Lesley McMillan as she takes you on a journey down memory lane in her upcoming concert.
Debra Mar & Ange Robinson interview Lesley this Tuesday, 1 July at 7.40am RPP FM’s program The Breakfast Table to hear a detailed account of the concert and why she is inspired by Doris Day .
Lesley recalls as a child she watched all Doris Day movies with her dad and was absolutely in awe of her singing, dancing and costumes and spent many hours with the hairbrush mimicking her.
Lesley explains, “I’m not an impersonator of Doris, just a representation of her music and career and the way she was able to make people happy through her persona.”
Lesley will have 2 or 3 costume changes from some of Doris Day movies.
“I have a bit of a chat with the audience and try to give a little insight into her life and career with some crowd participation and fun,” she added.
The show runs for approx 1¼ hours with over 20 of Doris's most memorable songs from her movies and album recordings.
