maQuay International Restaurant, owned by Head Chef Rodney Agius has, for the past 3 years built a successful business providing a fine dining experience with a focus on serving quality prime steaks and the freshest seafood in Hastings. Debra Mar visited the restaurant to meet the ‘man behind the menu’ and get the scoop first hand.

This proud restaurant featured on Marine Parade, is opposite Pelican Park Recreation Reserve and Hastings foreshore. The vista of green parkland and water can be viewed from the front decking and restaurant.

The décor is stylish with an appealing modern colour palette of charcoal and muted whites with comfortable walled bench seating, tables and chairs.

Rodney who previously ‘chefed’ at well-renowned Richmond Oysters Restaurant and Richmond Seafood Wholesalers has the best contacts in the seafood business. So you can be assured seafood served at maQuay is as fresh as the day it was reeled from the sea.

His passion of food and commitment is visually obvious on the plate. Chef Rodney believes cooking is about culinary art matched with a memorable dining experience.

maQuay friendly staff and quality service starts ‘front of house’ and continues to the kitchen where delicious fresh ingredients are prepared and transformed into Australian and International modern cuisine.

The carefully selected menu offers a wide variety of ‘modern infused’ entrées, mains and desserts with a children’s meal to keep any fussy eater happy.

Duck & chicken dishes, quality steaks from the grill and ‘A grade’ seafood caught from the depths of the sea is cooked to perfection.

Gluten Free and vegetarian options are also available.

“At maQuay we pride ourselves on presenting
to you a high quality meal.
We want maQuay to be your favorite place to eat.”

Scrumptious desserts including a Tasting Platter of sweet morsels is listed on the Dessert menu to send you to heaven and back.

Choose from sparkling wines, red and white wines, stocked in a fully licensed Bar to add to your fine dining experience.

Why not think about maQuay for your next function, wedding or party?

Open 7 days a week and serving breakfast on weekends, maQuay is worth the trip to Hastings to indulge your taste buds.
