To celebrate local businesses that sponsor and support our local radio station and it's programs, RPP FM personalities Pete Smedley & Ange Robinson, presenters of The Breakfast Scoop and Bob Phillips & Judy Banks-Phillips who present Sugar & Spice, hit downtown High Street, Hastings this week to bring the studio to the local people.

Starting the 5 hour Outside Broadcast marathon in the RPP FM van parked out front of High on Fruit & Gourmet on Main, The Breakfast Scoop went live to air with Pete & Ange at 6am. Both entertained listeners and passer-bys with their regular guests. Bluey provided his weekly AFL Footy Tips – sponsored by Studio 3 Fitness Hastings,
Brother Ray gave his weekly Surf Report – sponsored by The Dava Hotel Mt Martha
and Ange cooked up a storm on the pavement in her weekly cooking segment using fresh and local produce from High on Fruit & Gourmet on Main – sponsors of The Breakfast Scoop.

Special guest, singer/songwriter Paul Dillon sang live and talked about his upcoming play called The Symphony about the plight of frogs who live in the Balbirooroo Wetlands on the Peninsula.

Adding to the frivolity, Bob & Judy took centre stage at 9am and continued to amuse locals on Sugar & Spice. Roving Ange sauntered up High Street offering give-aways and Movie Passes, Bob & Judy interviewed Captain Steve Bowater – Commanding Officer at HMAS Cerberus, Arthur O’Bryan (Bluey) plugged ‘A Stretch of the Imagination’, live theatre in Somers, Brooke from Pelican Park Recreation Reserve made an appearance and Marcus Johns, owner of Kirk's Hotel Mornington has just purchased and is re-developing the Westernport Hotel in Hastings. He spoke about his journey and aspiration for the new hotel. Bob & Judy also acknowledged the ongoing support of Hastings Mowers as a sponsor of the station.

RPP FM Station Manager, Brendon Telfer, proud of his team said, “It sounded great, lively and engaging with great content. It’s wonderful to get out among the people to help build local communities and businesses.”

Thank you to Mark Mayle who ran the show behind the panel.
