Mark Mayle, host of Sunday Sessions introduces Trudy and the Saturday Cowboys who will be performing live in the BlueScope Performance Studio at RPP FM local radio station this Sunday.

This band has been described as a ‘retro-country-cabaret with a rock edge’…think ‘what happened when Patsy Cline met Jack White’. Trudy and the Saturday Cowboys is a new band from ‘down south’ playing gigs around Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.

Fronting the band is Trudy Valentine. Supporting her is songwriter Chris ‘D.Gray’ on guitar, Ben ‘the goods’ man on bass and Pappa Mick on drums. Backing vocalists, ‘The Kellies’ balance out the blokes with their hip-swinging smooth-as-all-hell harmonies. Influences include, ‘just about every damn thing’, but if it was a life or death situation Meow Meow, Cowboys Junkies, Mazzy Starr and Chet Baker.

Trudy and the Saturday Cowboys is making their radio debut ‘live-to-air on Sunday Sessions this Sunday, 27 April at Midday.
