Neil Williams, RPP FM cricket commentator and his cricket panel ‘greats’ Peter Walker, Craig Keppel and Phil Manning covered the live action at Mt Martha Cricket Ground on Sunday for the 2014 Jack Peacock Cup T20 Grand Final, proudly sponsored by Bendigo Community Bank.

Pines Cricket Club and Mornington Cricket Club batted and bowled their way through the match with Pines winning victoriously.

Both teams were placed second on the ladder in their respective Competitions which made it an exciting contest.

Pines CC opened the batting with a promising start. Pines Captain Ricky Ramsdale hit a powerful 53 runs off 26 deliveries and was well supported by Brett Hudgson with 30 runs and young Harley Peace-Stirling, who showed great batting skills and determination, remained on 62 not out.

Pines total score was 6 for 184.

It was not Mornington Cricket Club’s day with the loss of star batsman Ben Clements early in the match. The highest scores from tail-enders was Glen Wood on 23 runs and Jake Dale on 29. The team only managed 120 runs in total.

Pines bowlers Brett Remy and Nick Wilcox both picked up 3 wickets each.

The Pines CC is to be congratulated for their strong performance and will be happy with their $4000 prize money provided by sponsors The Bendigo Community Bank.

And congratulations to our RPP FM cricket commentators who continue to produce wonderful live broadcasts of the MPCA Bendigo Bank cricket matches every weekend on 98.7FM & 98.3FM Frankston.
