Grey skies overhead didn’t stop record crowds lining the streets to watch the 45th Mornington Peninsula Shire ‘The Sky’s The Limit’ Street Parade as Debra Mar reports from Hastings on the weekend.

Performance Manager and presenter of RPP FM’s program Sunday Sessions, Mark Mayle and RPP FM presenter of Blues Shack, Ray Reid entertained crowds with their commentary as 67 Street Parade participates marched, ran, rode, danced and skipped past the broadcasting marquee.

Activities continued over the weekend with the RPP FM Stage hosting great acts and performing artists such as The Oils, The Faux Fighter and Rob Papp & Bluesheads  (a regular guest on Blues Shack) to name a few.  An appearance of Tallship Enterprise, water activities, amusement rides and a fireworks display were also greatly received.

Mayor Cr Antonella Celi said. “It was an outstanding contribution by everyone involved –  sponsors, volunteers, parade entrants and vendors to make the weekend a success, especially the communities input as a whole on the Mornington Peninsula.” Mayor Cr Celi also wanted to make special mention of Cr David Garnock’s tireless work who made sure the festival ran smoothly.

On behalf of the RPP FM team, we thank everyone involved who put in a mammoth effort to bring joy and fun to the community.
