Bob Phillips & Judy Banks-Phillips have been immortalized in caricature!

The two uproarious custodians of entertainment and frivolity on the RPP FM airways with their program Sugar n’ Spice, commissioned local renowned and acclaimed artist Cheryl Petersen of Cheryl Petersen Galleries in Somerville to transport their charming characters on canvas.

Bob, with his trusty ‘cans’ and ‘mic’ poised to engage with his loyal listening audience, looking exultant and comfortable in his skin, complete with a toy replica of his red tractor he is affectionately attached to, and Judy, with her ‘Cheshire Cat’ smile, modestly revealing her womanliness featuring feathers, fur and décolletage, complete with a her kitty-kat balanced on raised knees, depicts this ‘husband and wife’ team as nothing but charismatic and enchanting.

One would agree that the resemblance is remarkable, capturing the true essence of Bob & Judy’s wit, charm and idiosyncrasies, down to his brown suede shoes and her ‘bling’ encrusted ballet flats by her side.

Bob & Judy have been in the TV and entertainment world for many years with Bob kicking off his career as a projectionist at GTV-9 in Richmond and finishing with Hey, Hey, it’s Saturday as Co-Producer. He worked on IMT, The Graham Kennedy Show and many more with added years of experience on various Melbourne radio stations.

Judy was Co-Presenter on Fredd Bear’s Breakfast-A-Go-Go on Channel 0 in the late 60’s, acted on Australian feature films and stage productions and worked along side personalities such as Bert Newton and Daryl Somers. She currently runs the Judy Banks School of Television teaching the art of public speaking, drama and TV.

I’m sure Bob & Judy will proudly position their paintings in a prominent place in their home for all to appreciate.

Sugar n’ Spice with Bob & Judy – every Thursday between 9-11am, presenting this ‘must listen’ celebrity program guaranteeing a lively 2 hours of radio of interviews from Australian and international celebrities including the ‘rich and famous’ and show biz ‘goss’.

And stay tuned for the Late, Late Brekky Show every Sunday 9-11am when Bob presents his program offering a range of eclectic solid gold music, comedy skits from the likes of Billy Connolly, Dave Allen and Bob Newhart and movie reviews.
