Introducing 13 year old Belynda, one of three winners who scooped up prize money for her remarkable performance in the inaugural The Voice of Frankston Grand Final this week at Frankston RSL.

Belynda of Frankston sang Little Me to win in her Under 16 years Junior section. Other winners included Cail Barona of Frankston in the Adult section (16 – 59 years) singing and Mark Peers of Tyabb won in the Senior section (60+) singing Help Me Make it Through The Night.

Belynda is no stranger to performing. She said, “I started singing when I was two and my first performance was in grade six in a singing comp and came third.” She added, “This year I sang in Mt Erin Idol and came runner up. I love the arts but I can't draw or dance to save my life. I love singing because I just like the way it makes me feel.”

The entire evening was broadcast live to air by RPP FM presenters Tarryn & Josh on 98.7FM and 98.3FM Frankston who did a sensational job.
Jenny Wilkinson from Fun-Key Music Shop in Seaford who helped organize the event said, “The Grand Final of The Voice of Frankston was a huge success with 13 acts performing to a packed house and the standard was nothing short of amazing.”

There were six acts in the Junior section, five acts in the Adult section and two acts in the Senior section.

“The audience was rewarded with a real variety of music and they responded enthusiastically for everyone,” Jenny added.

Special guests on the night included Jackie Sannia, a finalist in The Voice Australia as well as one of the judges on the night, Alana Wilkinson local singer, Joe Ball the oldest entry in the competition and Brodie Vearing.

Jenny would like to congratulate everyone for taking part in the competition and urge those who didn't get through this year to try again next year. It was great to see how the support of local businesses can make a real difference in showcasing some of Melbourne's best talent.

The winner from each section received prizes to the value of $2,500 from a pool valued at $10,000.

This is a great community event for Frankston and winners will be introduced to great career opportunities.
