Lucky locals were treated to a weekend of Spring Concert bliss at The BlueScope Performance Studio at the RPP FM radio station.
International pianist Lachlan Redd who regularly performs on the world stage, played with gusto last Saturday. Lachlan delighted a capacity audience who responded to music that rang out across the room to the tune of Debussy and Chopin. He is an accomplished musician achieving many awards and winning competitions and is very heavily involved in ABC orchestras and Philharmonic orchestras.
The following day, Vivien Hamilton (Soprano), accompanied by pianist Len Vorster sang with emotion and poignancy as she told the story of suffering (anti-) heroines called Lady Macbeth, ‘Out damned Spot’. The monologue that portrayed the darker natures of ambition, desperation, degradation and madness in the scenas of Horovitz, Bauld and the songs of Weill and Poulenc ended the weekend on a high note.
Both performances across the weekend were recorded for future broadcast on RPP FM music programs.
RPP FM’s Classical Musical Director Antony Ransome said he was pleased with audience numbers and happy to be able to introduce such professional and talented artists to the Mornington Peninsula.
All monies will aid RPP FM local community radio.
RPP FM wish to acknowledge the generosity of Bernie’s Music Land for their ongoing support and providing a Bernstein studio grand piano that is extensively utilized in the BlueScope Performance Studio for recordings, live broadcasts before audiences, concerts and recitals.
