The BlueScope Performance Studio at RPP FM local radio station will host wonderful live Spring Concerts introducing International artists Lachlan Redd (piano) and Vivien Hamilton (Soprano) accompanied by pianist Len Vorster.
This beautifully orchestrated program is spread across this weekend with Lachlan performing on Saturday, 26 October at 3pm and Vivien and Len providing a passionate monologue of songs in Lady Macbeth – ‘Out, damned Spot!’ on Sunday, 27 October at 3pm.
Lachlan is no stranger to the world stage. After graduating from Manhattan School of Music, New York in 1999, obtaining a Bachelor of Music degree and awarded The University Medal in 1997 by the Australian National University, he has been invited to participate in some of the world’s most prestigious piano competitions including Scottish, Leeds, Rachmaninov and Bachstein. He won the 1996 Keyboard Final of the ABC’s Young Performer of the Year, has appeared as a recitalist and concerto artist on ABC TV with most ABC orchestras and Philharmonic orchestras in the company of leading conductors. His technique is described as ‘extraordinary’ by his peers.
Vivien and Len perform together in harmonious bliss as they present a selection of music for a solo female voice and piano picked from the music collections of prominent 20th-century Australian, English, American and French composers. Their theme is one which portrays the darker natures of ambition, desperation, degradation, madness in the scenas of Horovitz, Bauld and the songs of Weill and Poulenc.
RPP FM’s Classical Musical Director Antony Ransome said, “It’s a great opportunity to expose a local audience to well acclaimed international guests.”
