This week RPP FM presenter Helen Turner had the pleasure of interviewing Lions Club District Governor, David Barnes and ‘Youth of the Year’ Co-Ordinator Darryl Sutcliffe on her program Tuesday Chats with Helen.
Helen spoke to David Barnes, Lions District 201 V3 Governor for 2013/14 about the activities the Lions Clubs are involved in across the Peninsula communities including his support for Lions International projects worldwide.
Darryl Sutcliffe, who co-ordinates ‘Youth of the Year’ for the local district spoke about the importance of this prestigious award, now in it’s 46th year. “This program is an excellent means of assisting Australia’s youth promoting confidence, is an essential role of leadership development in community service organisations and practicing public speaking”, Darryl said. Darryl is also a member of the Balla Balla Lions Club and is the Pearcedale Bendigo Bank Branch Manager.
Lions Club ‘Youth of the Year’ entries are now open. If you are a young person who will be between the ages of 15 and 19 before 30 June you are eligible to enter.
