Excitement is building around the Dromana Bowls Club as they unveil their new world-class synthetic greens. To celebrate this new upgrade, a Bowls Expo will be held on Thursday, 5 September between 10am – 6pm.
Come join a great day of social bowling including a skills training/challenge course. Talk to exhibitors and take advantage of local and international expert knowledge on the latest, quality products. Enjoy fantastic food and refreshments on the Sail Deck and absorb the wonderful bay view. A huge raffle will be drawn on the day with prizes galore!

Both days are free entry for all with a BBQ and bar open all day.
Labelled by many as the ‘friendly & caring club’, their focus is on the physical and social engagement of members that supports a happy, healthy lifestyle.
Offering memberships on a 3 tiered basis, extending to a full membership that includes Skills Training, Coaching and 1:1 tuition, the Club caters for young members, the youngest being 21 years of age. It’s a safe environment for youth to develop life skills in this competitive sport. Some members play in State competitions.
Barefoot Bowls has really taken off on the Peninsula and Dromana Bowls Club supports this new phenomenon during Daylight Saving.
Current member numbers stand at 200+ and growing with a stable membership base. The friendly, caring Dromana Bowls Club has set up a Retired Members Register, committed to stay connected.
The Dromana Bowls Club appoints people from all walks of life with diverse expertise, experience and skills to manage this well organised and financially secure Club. They are:
Jeff Flather – Executive Director with a background in Consulting Engineering/Project Management and has been associated with the Club for 9 years.
Barry Bacon – Deputy Executive Director, has a Construction Chemicals background and has been a member for 2 years.
Lou Taylor – Men’s Section President who has been a member for 3 years and has been in the motor trade.
Wen Llewellyn – Ladies Section President who has been a member for 4 years and has a nursing background.
Dromana Bowls Club was established over 60 years ago and is the only club on the Peninsula to invest in the latest technology synthetic greens with needle punched carpet by Dales UK. The ‘15 second green in all conditions’ has a new backing to stabilize playing speed. The Club also boasts 14 rinks, accommodating up to 8 players on each rink.
