Heading steadfastly into 2014, the Flinders Golf Club is delighted about the launch of its newly created marketing campaign designed to encourage new members and visitors to frequent the club and to build awareness of its fabulous facilities.

Tim Reynolds, Secretary/Manager said, “There is new vigour at the club and we are striving to let people know that our doors are open.” There is a strong focus on bringing people together.

The Flinders Golf Club is the oldest golf course in Victoria, celebrating its 110th Anniversary next month. The panoramic view from the Club Rooms balanced high above the tree line, provides an uninterrupted seascape of Bass Strait and Phillip Island.

This is the ultimate destination for golfers of all ages, all levels of experience and all walks of life with a magnificent 18 hole golf course sweeping down to the coast line.

Heading up the implementation of this ambitious campaign is newly appointed House Manager John G. John brings a strong hospitality background to the role with many years of experience across all aspects of hospitality and marketing.

His focus at the Golf Club is food, beverages and function facilities to compete as one of the sought after venues on the Peninsula for entertainment and dining. John’s primacy is to raise awareness to the communityof the various function facilities at the Club that caters for weddings, milestone celebrations, special occasions, corporate golf days and events.

“I want the Club to be dynamic and open it up for the community to come together and enjoy the facilities here and support our events,” John said. He added, “Our membership fee is excellent value for a course and facilities of this calibre but it’s important to realise that we are also open for non-members as well.” 

A strong membership base is part of the success of this long running club spanning over a century and the Club continues to build this base through junior golf, social golf, corporate golf and special member categories for all walks of life. Gavin Coyle is the Club pro, a respected and much sought after professional from Scotland, the Home of Golf. He is available for lessons at very reasonable rates.

Of course there is also the infamous 19th hole and much work has gone into setting up a strong social plan for members and non-members.

A fun Karaoke Party will be held at the Club House on Friday 13 September and everyone is encouraged to join in for the chance to win prizes including scariest dressed and best singers.
