Local dignitaries, sponsors and media attended the Main Street Mornington Festival Launch at the Bendigo Community Bank, Mornington Branch last week.
Festival Director, Christina Nolan and Assistant Director Paula Creek, organised the launch as a way of bringing local businesses, sponsors and volunteers together to acknowledge their support for the past 18 years the festival has in operation.
In attendance was Federal Member for Dunkley and Minister for Small Business, Bruce Billson MP, Mornington Peninsula Shire Councillors Anne Shaw and Bev Colomb, Marketing and Promotions Manager of Mornington Chamber of Commerce, Kim Rowe and Bendigo Community Branch Managers Mr Kerry Debernardi of Mornington, Mr Greg Hilton of Mt Martha and Mr Chris Watson of Mt Eliza.
Christina presented a Certificate of Appreciation to the Mornington Peninsula Shire, received by Cr Colomb and Cr Shaw, to the Mornington Chamber of Commerce, received by Kim Rowe and to Mary and Arthur Parsons, publishers of Visitor Publications for their support and contribution over the past 18 years. Beleura House and Garden, Mornington and the Grand Hotel Mornington also received a Certificate of Appreciation for their 10 years of support.
The Bendigo Community Bank has played a big part in the Festival’s success and Greg, Branch Manager from the Mt Martha branch thanked the local community for their support adding, “Our Branch alone has invested $90,000 back into the community since we opened in April 2011.”
Christina closed the night saying, “It’s been great being part of this event for the past 10 years and it’s wonderful to have dignitaries, sponsors and volunteers from the Mt Eliza Lions Club come together to enjoy the evening.”
The annual Main Street Mornington Festival will be held on Sunday, 20 October 2013 between 11am – 5pm in Main Street Mornington with a great line up of bands featuring The Basics, over 70 stall holders including food and wine, activities for the whole family and much more.
