It’s what football dreams are made of….Edi-Asp, wooden spooners last year head to Frankston Park next Sunday to play in the Peninsula Football League Grand Final against Bonbeach in Jim’s Test & Tag Match Final series after defeating Frankston YCW in the Preliminary Final.

The final score on the Turnkey Homes Scoreboard Edi-Asp 11. 17. (83) to YCW 11. 12. (78).

In the first quarter, the Stonecats were all over the ball and led by 10 points, but in the 19 minute mark of the second quarter the Eagles hit the lead with powerful forwards driving through the pack and YCW kicking only 2 points.

Pushing forward, YCW dominated the third quarter, turning the scores around again, finishing the quarter with a 20 point lead.

The final quarter was the thriller. At the 27 minute mark, scores on the Turnkey Homes Scoreboard were level at 70 points. Going into extra time after the final siren, and both teams desperate to play in the Grand Final, Edi-Asp clenched the opportunity and won the match by 5 points.

RPP FM commentator Vossy and guest commentator Alan Glanville, known around the traps as ‘Mr Edithvale’ delivered the action ‘live to air’ on 98.7 and 98.3FM Frankston. The commentary box was alive with uncontrollable energy as the boys found it hard to contain themselves through the excitement of this fantastic game of footy. This is what finals are about – rough, tough, close scores and hard play and these two teams didn’t disappoint, giving fans and spectators heart stopping frills and spills.
