Sorrento Gulls earned their sixth consecutive Nepean Football League Grand Final against Dromana Tigers in the Jim’s Test & Tag match next Saturday at Frankston Park after they defeated Rosebud in the Preliminary Final.

With The Buds and Gulls supporters cheering hysterical, it was evident the better team of the day on the Bendigo Community Bank, Dromana/Rye & District Scoreboard was Sorrento 12. 8. (80) to Rosebud 11. 12. (78).

Sorrento went into the last quarter with a 9 point lead but The Buds played exceptionally well and picked up their game in the first 5 minutes of the quarter and put themselves in front by 3 points. Their scoring rampage continued and thought they had a ‘win in the bag’ climbing to a 10 point difference half way through but Sorrento answered the deficit and kicked 3 goals to win by an impressive 2 points.

Over night rain made the ground soggy and heavy ‘under foot’ proving the fittest team would break through and bathe themselves in glory to play in the Grand Final.

Rosebud did well to come from the Elimination Final to the Preliminary Final with a dominate Ruck.

Dromana go into the Grand Final as slight favourites.
