Edi-Asp Eagles earned their ‘wings’ to proceed to the 1st Semi-final in the Peninsula Football League at the Jim’s Test & Tag Match of the Day played on Sunday against Mornington Bulldogs.

On the Turnkey Homes Scoreboard at the Elimination Final at Eric Bell Reserve, the final score was Edi-Asp 11. 12. (78) to Mornington 9. 13. (67).

The Eagles came into the Final as the favourite but trailed the Bulldogs until the first 15 minutes in the final quarter where scores were even. From there onwards the excitement built as ‘tit-for-tat’ scoring was displayed on the Turnkey Homes Scoreboard. Edi-Asp broke away from the Doggies to win the match by 11 points.

Michael Voss & Nat provided a thrilling blow by blow commentary and both nominated the big Rover for Edi-Asp Markham Johnson to take out RPP FM Best on Ground Trophy, sponsored by TurnKey Homes. Johnson kicked the all important goal which gave his team the winning edge.

Mornington have now blown their chance to compete in the 2013 Peninsula Football League finals series.

The 1st Semi-final will be played between Edi-Asp and Mt Eliza next Sunday, 1 September.
