The Pines Pythons slithered their way as hopefuls for the finals in round fifteen of the Peninsula League when they had a stranglehold on The Redlegs in the RPP FM Match of the Day, courtesy of Jim’s Test & Tag.

RPP FM commentators Michael ‘Vossy’ Voss and Nath erupted in their chairs as they told the exciting story of play reflected on the Mt Eliza Meats Scoreboard, Pines 11. 7. (73) to Mt Eliza 8. 15. (63).

The final quarter sorted out the winners with The Pines lagging just a tiny 3 points behind then kicking 2 goals and 2 points to Mt Eliza’s 1 point in the last 20 minutes of the match.

On their own turf, Mt Eliza’s inaccurate kicking and lack of ‘legs’ to go the distance couldn’t match the determination and resilience of the Pythons. This season the Club had many opportunities to win matches but on this occasion brought the goods home. A great victory for The Pines who answered in spectacular style.

RPP FM Best on Ground, courtesy of Herbaceous Flowers, Mt Eliza was awarded to Pines player Brenton Cowell who received the golden Logie for his strategic ball work and dominated play.
