There was thrills and spills at R. J. Rowley Reserve as footy supporters cheered on their teams when Dromana put out the Demon’s fire at the RPP FM Match of the Day, sponsored by Jim’s Test & Tag.

The final score on the Rye & District / Dromana Bendigo Community Bank Scoreboard displayed a 4 point deficit with Rye unable to survive the Dromana Tigers strike 12. 11. 83 to 12. 7. 79.

Disappointment was visible on the Demon’s faces as they headed to the change rooms. Rye needed to win this match to secure any final chances.

Andrew ‘Toe Punt’ Kelly and bro Adam ‘Short Pass’ competed with loud cheers of excited supporters as they broadcast the live action of this great game while Jordy King kept listeners updated with vital statistics, courtesy of Pest Free.

At the end of the day the Tigers showed the Demons who are king of the jungle and have cemented their hopes for the finals.

With a difference of 1 point in Rye’s favour, coaches from both sides huddled down at ¾ time to ‘rev’ up their players.

RPP FM Best on Ground, courtesy of Pest Free was awarded to Demon’s player Darren Booth, receiving the golden trophy. Darren said, “The boys needed to win this game to move up to 5th position on the ladder to give us any chance of finals.” But he was a happy chap with his recognition for outstanding play.
