The home ground of Edi-Asp Eagles provided the biggest upset in the ninth round of the Peninsula Football League draw when last year’s wooden spooners downed Frankston YCW Stone Cats with an impression final score.

Commentator Michael ‘Vossy’ Voss and co-commentator David Quinlan called the RPP FM Match of the Day, sponsored by Jim’s Test & Tag, bringing the YCW’s to their knees who struggled to get the ball out of Edi-Asp’s strong defence.

Stone Cats, the team to beat in the League were ‘run out’ with the Eagles soaring with precision, dictating the final score on the Pest Free Scoreboard 16 14 (110) to 9 12 (66).

The win will place Edi-Asp within the top 5 on the Peninsula Football League’s Ladder.

The Eagles has given confidence to other teams in the league that YCW can actually be beaten.

This week’s RPP FM’s Best on Ground, sponsored by Rugs Plus was awarded to Eagles player Markham Johnson who showed his range of skills to help bring about a 44 point win.
