The grandeur presence of Peppers Moonah Links Resort in Fingal, quietly elevated among Moonah Trees and manicured fairways, is the accredited Home of Australian Golf.

Sitting opposite me in the Spike Bar, is meticulously dressed Executive Assistant Manager, John Comber and Business Development Manager, Kane Disney enjoying a coffee overlooking the vista of green rolling golfing turf, proudly discussing this world class Resort.

Kane, with a corporate background in sporting clubs, Business Management and Tourism and John, with a sound professional background in Hotel Management and guest services, together draw business to the Resort and help uphold the exceptionally high standards of this property.

John explains, “We offer two types of facilities; it’s a leisure resort with golf, professional tuition, and Pro-Shop, and the other is Corporate services such as Conference venues, Business Golf Days and Weddings.”

Ross Perret, Golf Course Architect and golfing great Peter Thomson, designed the two18 hole championship public golf courses.

With acclaimed awards such as Moonah Links Open Course, voted #1 Best Conditioned Golf Course in Australia for the past 5 years and Moonah Links Legends Course, voted #2 Best Conditioned Golf Course in Australia for the past 5 years is mainly credited to Ground Superintendant Kyle Wilson who keeps the courses in first-class condition.

The Resort has also hosted two Australian Open Championships and five major internationally telecast tournaments: – the 2003 and 2005 Australian Open Golf Championships and the 2008, 2009 and 2010 Moonah Classic.

There are even two helipads on the property and Moonah Links Resort boasts the largest fleet of motorized golf carts in Victoria.

Kane said, “We cater for the serious golfer or guests who just want to enjoy the pleasures at our Resort.” He added, “We also hold charitable events and work closely with the charity involved.”
